Job Description
Hillside Childrens Center is recruiting for relief Behavioral Support Professionals to work in partnershipwith the CiTi Stepping Stones Day Treatment program located in Fulton, NY. Relief hours are worked on an as needed basis with no set schedule. All hours will be during school hours.The Behavioral Support Professional (BSP) is responsible for observing, assessing, intervening, accepting and engaging student (s) who cannot be maintained in their classroom environments. The Behavioral Support Professional applies experience with and learned crisis intervention techniques for children in need of more specialized support. BSP Relief Staff will be familiar with and support the treatment goals and objectives derived from treatment & education plans. The BSP Relief recognizes emerging crisis situations and utilizes effective intervention techniques to prevent occurrence, escalation, and/or reoccurrence of crises, for student(s). The position prepares students to successfully re-enter the classroom setting, as well as makes recommendations to the clinical staff regarding a students’ behaviors, as needed. The BSP uses experience, education, age-specific knowledge, relevant behavioral data, and cultural competence in order to assess and treat clients toachieve positive and successful outcomes. High School Diploma required, Bachelor's degree preferred. Two or more years of experience working in a classroom, or related therapeutic experience working with youth/children required.
